Australian-based CNC grinder manufacturer ANCA has appointed Jeroen Schmits as its new CEO. He will be responsible to ANCA’s Board of Directors for all global business operations and will relocate from the United States to ANCA’s head office in Melbourne.
Schmits brings to ANCA exceptional leadership skills with an extensive track record in international business management. He has had a long career in managing capital equipment companies; most recently he successfully led capital equipment company Universal Instruments in Binghamton, New York. As President of Universal, Schmits focused on sustainable growth based on technology development and world class quality performance.
He has degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration and studied and worked in The Netherlands before spending the last ten years in various roles in the United States.

On the decision to move to Melbourne, Schmits said:

To support its growth, the company recently expanded its global manufacturing base by investing in a new operation in Thailand. ANCA exports nearly all of its products to destinations around the world and continues to expand its presence in the markets for cutting tools, aerospace, automotive and medical applications.
Schmits will be starting in his new role at ANCA on 1 November 2007.
